About Us
My love and passion for training horses began when I was a child growing up on a farm in a rural farming and ranching
community in Idaho. On the farm, my father kept a fair amount of horses. In addition to the regular farm and ranch chores,
these horses had to be trained for use on the farm, or they were sold as useable safe horses to other ranchers and horse lovers. I
started training my first horse when I was seven years old. This began my career as a life-long trainer. By the age of ten, my
reputation in the community had grown and people started bringing their horses to me to train.
Since age seventeen, I've worked to enhance my skills and experience as a trainer by working in a variety of horse training
venues. I worked for a well-known reined cow horse trainer, Walter Wright, in San Juan Batista, California. I pursued my love
of cattle ranching by working for several large ranches in California, Nevada, and Montana. I also worked as the trainer of the
ranches' horses.
In the early 1990's, I decided to improve and expand my skills and moved back to Idaho where my brother, Kim, was training
show horses. I joined him and began my career in the show horse world. Kim later moved his business to Utah and I opted to
stay in Idaho and enjoyed a successful training business for years. I competed and helped many Non Pros and youth compete in
all ranges of competition from the reining futurity in Oklahoma City, to the local shows in the Idaho Reining Horse Association.
I've also served two years as the Idaho Reining Horse Association president and was active for many years on the board of
directors. I have attended a National Reining Horse Association judge's seminar and have judged many local reining shows,
breed shows, and rodeo queen contests.
As a trainer, I continue to use my skills and knowledge to enable other horse lovers to enjoy to the fullest their passion, taking
special care to help them and their horse to achieve whatever goals they have in mind.
My program is based upon honesty and trust, and one of partnership between you and your horse.
